Nóra Support: Our study on the labor market situation of mothers raising children with disabilities

Invisible burdens, made visible strength – our research on the labor market situation of women raising children with disabilities

With our research, which began in 2015 on the labor market opportunities for mothers raising children with disabilities, we uncovered an invisible yet starkly revealing slice of social reality: the situation of society’s invisible superheroes. Mothers raising children with disabilities provide care 24 hours a day. And yes, they also want to work and create value. The goal was clear: to highlight systemic failures, give voice to those affected, and offer concrete policy recommendations to ensure they no longer have to choose between caregiving and making a living. Because the care crisis is not a private matter: it is a shared social responsibility.

This study is not merely a collection of data and analyses—it is, rather, a collective cry for action: mothers raising children with disabilities cannot be left on the margins of society—supporting the preservation of their human dignity and making their daily lives easier is a measure of all our integrity.
