Following our 2016 survey on women-owned businesses, we were invited to participate in the project titled “Establishment of the South-East European Women’s Business Angel Network” (SEEWBAN), which aims to harness the potential of angel financing to support the growth of women entrepreneurs.
In our work with partner organizations from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Scotland, and Slovenia, we focus on increasing the visibility of women-led businesses and developing a network of women and men interested in becoming business angels. The project includes the transfer of networking and educational expertise from countries at the forefront of business angel financing (primarily the United Kingdom and Italy), as well as the development of innovative e-learning materials to enhance the knowledge and skills of business angels and women entrepreneurs for effective collaboration.
Through these networking activities, we plan to invest approximately €2.4 million in women-owned businesses across the consortium’s member countries.
Our main activities:
Research: We assess the obstacles, challenges, and success factors affecting the operations of business angels in Hungary
Training and mentoring: Preparing women-led businesses ready for growth to receive angel financing, and preparing business angels to invest in women-led businesses
Networking: facilitating cooperation between existing initiatives and other consortia, and encouraging transnational community collaboration within European networks of women entrepreneurs
Event organization: pitching sessions for women entrepreneurs
The project is supported by the European Commission. The JÓL-LÉT Foundation bears sole responsibility for the content.
